Step 1:

What are Healthy MomsŪ Perinatal Fitness Classes?

Few times are more exciting in a woman's life than the pending arrival of a child. She asks herself, "What will my child look like?" "What will his/her personality be like?" But most of all, she prays, "I hope that my child will be healthy."

An expectant mother can do much to ensure the health and well being of her child by making sure that she herself is healthy. An important component of her prenatal health is regular exercise. What one Mom has to say about Healthy Moms®...

Next Step Fitness, Inc. is proud to present Healthy MomsŪ Perinatal Fitness classes. With consent from her obstetrician/midwife, a pregnant woman can safely participate in these prenatal classes and be assured that the classes are designed specifically to balance and strengthen the muscle groups and systems affected by pregnancy and childbirth. The classes adhere to the latest guidelines put out by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology for pre and postnatal fitness and will be taught by certified perinatal fitness instructors.

The Healthy Moms® classes consist of stretching, low-impact aerobics, strength training and toning that will effectively train a woman for the marathon of pregnancy, the rigors of labor and "the main event" childbirth. The classes are also a medically safe and sound way to "shape up" after delivery. The relaxed environment promotes sharing of information and ideas with other pregnant and post partum women. Non-mobile babies are welcome to attend.

Step 2: Waivers Needed to Attend Healthy Moms® Classes

Medical Permission, health history questionnaire and waiver of liability are required for participation. We must receive your signed permission slip from your obstetrician/midwife, the health history questionnaire and signed waiver before you participate Click here to download the waivers. Step 3: Healthy Moms® Supplies

The classes require the birth balls and rubber Xertubes for stretching, strengthening and toning. For safety, we recommend participants use only Maxafe burst resistant balls. You may order them from Darline.
